Morton's neuroma

Morton’s neuroma causes pain between your toes and in the ball of the foot. It can also be felt as a burning, tingling or numb sensation. It is a condition where a nerve is swollen and pinched usually between the third and fourth toes. The pain is commonly felt between the toes when walking. Taking off your shoes and massaging the area helps with the pain. Morton’s neuroma is more common with women than men.

Treatment

  • Your shoes need to have enough space where your toes lie so that they have room to move freely. Tight shoes in this area make the problem worse. Also make sure that your socks are also not too tight at the toes.
  • Massaging the area helps with the pain.
  • Use ball of foot supports.
  • Use arch supporting insoles and arch supports to shift your weight towards the outside of your foot.
