Cold feet

Cold feet are a common problem that is caused often by poor blood circulation in the feet. Tight shoes may also hinder blood flow. Other common causes are: lack of exercise, high blood pressure, smoking, high cholesterol, diabetes, obesity, pregnancy and some diseases.

Treatment

  • Use proper fitting footwear and socks that wick away the moisture from your feet.
  • Use socks or hosiery that assist blood flow in your feet.
  • Use warm socks, shoes and insoles.
  • Take good care of your health: exercise, maintain recommended blood pressure and cholesterol levels, and quit smoking.
  • Use foot creams daily to keep your feet soft.
